How to find autism services in the GTA

Searching for therapies, schools, respite, or sensory-friendly places in the Greater Toronto Area is overwhelming. Use this sequence so you cover funding, formal networks, and day-to-day fit.

1. Register with the Ontario Autism Program (OAP)

If your child is under 18 with a written ASD diagnosis, register with the OAP. That unlocks foundational family services and pathways into regional networks. Start at ontario.ca/ontario-autism-program.

2. Know your regional service network

3. Filter for what actually matters day to day

Directories list clinics; fewer tell you about sensory environments, staff training, funding accepted, or age range. Use the Autism Atlas map to filter by category (therapies, respite, parks, schools) and support features.

4. Layer funding and peer support

Explore DTC, RDSP, Passport, SSAH, and caregiver groups via Autism Ontario. See our full Guides page for official links.
